Marty, I’ve had the EZ Board sample you sent for a month or so and never got around to trying it. Being it wasn’t wood I was a skeptic. Well, the other day I finally got to it and WOW, what a pleasure it was to carve. I’m no longer a skeptic and will definitely being doing more of it. Thanks for a great new product.

Marty:Lot of days ago.I received the EZ Boards.I think they are a superb material for practicing chip carving, also,I’m tryng to do a li;l relief carving, but havenot done tomuch. The only obstacle(for me) is that my printer is an inkjet.but I trace the design with a superfine marker and that’s it. but I repeat, they are a very good material for cjip carving. Thanks for this great product

Wanted to try easy carve in the round, relief and chip carving. Works well in all cases, although has a distinct aroma as one is carving. A little tougher on blade edges. Faster than carving basswook. I am concerned about the dust generated when bandsawing out blanks for in the round carving (have dust collector on the saw).

      Hello Merv,
I too have found EZboard a bit tougher on blade edges. Keep your strop handy and hone regularly and your blade will glide through making clean cuts.
Regarding dust, I’ve been working with it in my shop for the past year. It does generate a fine dust that my dust collector will pick up quite a bit of it.
According the the spec sheet this material is no more hazardous than basswood to work with. Wearing a dust mask is a good idea anytime. If I’m doing a lot of turning and sanding I’ll wear a coverall with light head covering and dust mask. That does the trick!

EzBoard makes beginners look like experienced carvers. It finishes to look like wood. If you have hand ailments EZBoard and your knives work like butter and a hot knife team – allowing you to work for hours with no pain. With EZBoard grain is no longer an issue. Marty is right it makes chip carver easier and faster. Give it a try.

EZboard made it easy for me to get into chip carving. It has helped strengthen my hands for more upcoming basswood carving. I have done several projects in wood and it is getting easier as I continue, but EZboard made this possible.

I have only been in this new hobby for a month and I really enjoy it.
